Meet Your Breeder...
Tammy Tilley-Liphard
How did you get started in Pembroke Welsh Corgis???
I meant my first Corgi in 1998 at a horse auction, and fell instantly in love with this "low rider" both looks and personality, I was instantly hooked on the breed and decided I needed to have a "low rider" of my own. I purchased my first corgi "Gizmo" in 1998 and shortly after that I bought "Pebbles".
How DID YOU START BREEDING??
SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL ,I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTED IN MAKING DOGS "PRETTY", SHOWING THEM AND THEN EVENTUALLY BREEDING THEM. BEFORE CORGIS I BREED SHETLAND SHEEPDOGS, BUT AFTER BEING INTRODUCED TO THE CORGI I WAS HOOKED ON THE BREED.
How did you choose your kennel name???
We purchased our home in 1996, our home sits on 20 acreas which also has a little ridge, I really liked the name so it kind of just stuck, first it was LIL RIDGE RANCH, as we raised and boarded horses and when I started breeding corgis I just used the same name. Later I changed it to Tambali which is a mixture of my name, my husbands and our last name.
Tell me about your breeding program?
I look for conformation, health and temperament , I would not breed a dog that I wouldn't want to own myself, my dogs are all part of the family, I let them be dogs, running and playing in the ponds. I also have dabbled in showing in breed classes once in awhile when I have time, I concentrate on breeding the perfect dogs, for family pets and also for those who do like to show their dogs. Our puppies are born and raised in the house, are well socialized, and are well on their way with training by the time they go to their new homes, they will have been wormed multiple times and given their vaccinations UTD , I'm a small breeding "kennel" . If you would like to learn more about me write to me at [email protected] I love to talk dogs!!!!! With us, placing a puppy in a new home is not just another sell – it’s a new relationship that we have a part in initiating and developing. We warranty our puppies for health and will take back a dog if necessary to make sure it doesn’t end up on the streets or in a shelter. We are passionate about the dogs we raise and we put time and energy into improving the breed and providing quality dogs for our clients.
